Springboard Therapy pediatric center was created with a vision to provide a safe, fun, and respectful environment where children who struggle with a variety of developmental and sensory processing disorders and difficulties can thrive and build skills, progress toward key developmental milestones, build confidence and a positive sense of self.

Our state of the art facility was designed to provide a sensory-rich environment for children from 1-18 years old.

We are a family-centered, interdisciplinary practice of highly skilled practitioners who are trained to address a wide range of developmental challenges through the use of comprehensive evaluations and creating integrated interventions. Springboard Therapy will tailor treatments to your child’s specific needs and interests.

Our dedicated and talented staff consists of occupational therapists, physical therapists, and speech-language pathologists who specialize in pediatrics and sensory integration techniques. Our team approach ensures your child is making gains in all areas of development. All of our therapists are committed to ongoing training and education in their respected fields of pediatric therapy.

How To Know If Your Occupational Therapist Is Trained In Sensory Integration?

Your therapist should have all of the following:

State

License

A license from the state in which they practice is required for pediatric occupational therapists.

In order to obtain a license in NJ, a therapist must have graduated from an accredited university, completed fieldwork, and have passed a national certification examination.

Sensory Integration Training

Training in sensory integration treatment, evaluation and theory is all required.

The coursework involved in being able to administer the Sensory Integration and Praxis Tests (SIPT) covers all these areas and is a good sign that the therapist has a solid foundation in Sensory Integration.

Continuous Learning

New techniques and research within the field of sensory integration are constantly emerging. It is important that your SI trained therapist be committed to their continuing education.

All therapists receive completion certificates when they take continuing education courses and you can ask to see this certificate.

HOW DOES OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY HELP CHILDREN?

Occupational therapy can help those who have developmental delays, sensory processing disorders (either over stimulation or seeking stimulation) as well as spectrum disorders (Autism, ADHD, Asperger's). Older kids and adults with executive functioning disorders can also benefit from occupational therapy. At Springboard Therapy, our individualized approach of assessment and therapy will provide support in overcoming challenges and performing daily tasks or activities of daily living.
